The British steamship Fooksang reports that she left Wabu, and Chfaklang on the 10th inst From the Yangtze had fresh to moderate south. south-east and southerly winds with rainy weather; thence had light sorth-north-east and southerly winds to Lammocks; and to port had gentle westerly airs and cloudy sultry weather. On the 13th instant passed the steam- ship Chiyes off Plhikeshan, and same day passed the steamship Whampoa off Seven Stars. On the 14th passed the steamship Hisiloong off. Lammocks
The German'steamakip Swatow reports that she left Nowchwang on the 6th instant, and Cheloo on the 8th. Had fine weather and light sutherly wind up to the rath; thence strong south-east winds with heavy squalls and a falling barometer, On the morning of the 11th, with barometer falling and wind still increasing, we steered the ship for 4 hours to the north-east. and when the barometer commenced rislog, kept our course again, and proceeded to port with fine weather and southerly wind.
The British steamship Choyiang reports that she left Shangbai on the roth instant, and Swa tow on the 14th. Had moderate south-east winds and fine weather to Tour-tlog. The weather then assumed a very threatening appear- ance, wind backing and barometer falling fast with constant rala. Tarned back and anchored under Tsuan Island on the rith at 4 a.m., when it was blowing in strong squalls, accompanied by heavy rain. At noon the wind lulled and salted to east-south-east ; hove up anchor and proceeded, with moderate wind and southerly weil. From Swatow to Hongkong had light
