This has been a better day for Hongkong. H. K. led by 23 runs on first innings., Barrow addressed Team before second innings and said if we lost this match the Team would be bankrupt. Barff bowled magnificently, well backed up by Lawson; and 17 was all the Singaporeans could get. Barrow's war whoops * each wicket tumbled were a treat to hear. The "At Home" in the evening was a great success and the gallant Steelback enter- talner got a great reception; only a few għarrita were smashed and one Chinaman hurt, The destruction of property only mounted to two chandellers and a few dozen of tumblers.

We have had a | “fillip" on the cricket ground which was sadly needed, because 1 am one of those who view with a certain amount of dismay the way lawn tennis bas encroached upon the domain of cricket (Hear, hear). I will not go in detail through his team, but will say that we have seen excelicat cricket from Marks and that the bowling of Christoffelsz and Kelaart is av good as any bowling. Then I would refer alan to our friend on the left, (Lieut Blalt) who has shown excel- lest generalship in the team he has had charge of As a good all-round crikster'every one will | admit be is hard to beat (Hear, hear) and he has heen supported by one of his team, who has shown us at any tale how to bat on this ground, which has never had a fairer hitter or better bateman than Capi, Dana (Hear, bear). I am not going to leave out the bowlers of his team, because I think Barff and Lowson's bowling T thoroughly deserving of the bigh praise which has been bestowed on It. Gentlemen, the teams we are entertaining have had the advantage of the artistic merit of Braddell, whom they have met,
