It is sild here that the Railway Co. have got a credit of Thirty Million Taels (Ti 30,000,000). for the extension of Railways, and that the line between Tientsin and Takt is to be doubled as soon as possible. When this is done the Rail way Company will then be able to take up the steamers' cargoes. from Taku.ga
the top of the Custom Joss House and observe the fleet of merchant vessels lying outside of the Barwalling their tum for lighters. On Nov. 24th there were ar steamers and a tailing vessels, till waiting for lighters to take their cargoes. That afternoon there was a very high tide and all Taku was flooded, but, notwithstanding only two steamers crossed the Bar, the Feima and Alevins Styd, both of the Shanghai Mutual Co. Eleven feet six inches of water was signalled, but the this poles, inside Taku, at various places showed 14 feet on the Har, and by the way the country was flooded there could not have been any less.
