TO-DAY.

THE SHARK MArkar.

5 o'clock.

Banks have been very firm throughout the day, and sales have been arranged at as high as 180 per cent premium for cash and the end of the month. Steamboats. continue a mystery; there are sellers for cash at 273, and yet for delivery on July 31st the shares are quoted at 286, This makes a difference of $13, whereas the actual interest, even on a most liberal scale, is a few cents over two dollars. Well may the public ask what all this means. China Sugars are inquired after at 269, and business has been done at 279 and 280 'for the end of August. This is another of the current mysteries of the Share Market. Punjoms have changed hands at 30 and a few small lots at that rate are offering. The expected London telegram has evidently not yet arrived. There has been. & "boom" in the Songel, Koyah Planting Co.'s shares, which have been placed at 49 for cash and 56 and 58 for August. Other stocks are quiet, but Jelebus are on offer at 61.
