The is sit very little in the shape of actual business to report. Docks have been inquired after in several directions, but hoyong some small transactions at 35 per cient, premium for December, nothing has beln done, The Dock Company's Report, We may remark en passint, has been gene- Manila .... rally subjected to unfavorable criticism on the Rialto and if the vapourings of disap. pointed shareholders (who expected the impossible) maybe relied on, the Directors will be subjected to a severe "heckling " on the 27th inst. The worst-of-our-local- trumpet-tongued malcontents, who threaten all sorts of big things in private, is their lamb-like attitude when called upon to face the music at a public meeting; but 'twas ever thus, and it will indeed, be a surprise if the carefully thought-out speech of that popular Tribune of the people, the Hon. Jock Bell-irvine, does not bring pence to the troubled souls of big and disappointed holders of this, the most popular of local stocks. However, there may be a few pertinent questions asked, and in the present state of public feeling it will be just as well if the Chairman comes prepared, as evasive answers a la Mr. Bottomley will scarcely be accepted on this Occasion in grim and solenin silence.
