Noon, Banks are still the leading article on the Stock Exchange, a considerable amount of business having been put through this morning at gradually increasing rates. For cash at 189 per cent, premium, and also at 190 for the end of the month a goodly number of shares changed hands, the stock eventually leaving off very firm with cash buyers at 189. A strong renc- tion has set in in favor of Hongkong Fires. Although no actual transfers have been arranged a strong demand exists for the stock but up the time of our report leaving offers to purchase at 1273, and even at a higher rate, had not induced

Steamboats have changed hands for cash at 45 and 46, and for the end of July a fair number of transfers have been booked at 47b. China Sugars would be taken up at 188, but there are no sellers at the rate. Luzons have been negocisted on time at 80 for the end of August. Other stocks require no special reference.
