THE armament to be carried by the Phatan the new steel steam cruiser, launched a few weeks ago at Messrs. Napier and Sons' yard at Glasgow, will render her a very formidable vessel. It consists of ten 6-inch guns, six Nordenfeldt machine guns, two Gatlings, and ten torpedoes. She is of 3,000 tons burden, and is to be propelled by engines of goo horse-power, thus securing a very high rate of speed.
