THIS DAY.
Noon, Share business is again fairly brisk this morning, a good many transactions in various stocks having been reported. Banks are rather firmer than when we last wrote, with small cash buyers at
192 per cent. premium. No transfers at this rate have, however, come under our notice. China Traders' shares have changed hands at 2700, and there are further buyers at the rate. North China Insurance stock has been the made the medium for investments at 1675-an ad- vence of taels 75 on previous quotation- and more shares are wanted. Yangtsze Insurances are in request at the in- creased tariff of taels 920, China Fires could be placed at 358, but holders are apparently hopeful of securing better terms, so display no anxiety to sell. Docks remain in good odour; sales for cash at 62 per cent. premium have been booked, and there are still buyers. An inquiry after the scrip of the China and Manila S. S. Co. at 120 had led to no definite results when our report left. Other quota tions. require no special reference.
4 o'clock p.m. Since writing our morning report China Traders have still further improved their position; sales have been arranged at 2750 and buyers are willing to goon at the price. Although do cash business in China Sugars has come under our notice, we hear of some time bargains at 210 for the end of the month, A few sales of. Bank -stock,-new.issue:(£10.paidup), have been. put through at 151 per cent; premium per share, closing firm with buyers at quota tion.
