4 o'clock p.m. Taken altogether a substantial business has been done on the Share Market to- day, in Banks a few sales were booked in the morning at 190 per cent. premium for the end of the month, and at 193 for April 30th. Later on in the day further transactions were reported at 194 for. April, closing firm with buyers at that rate, and also at 191 for March 31st. Transfers in Chinese Insurance stock have been negociated at 220, a slightly lower rate than that previously quoted, and more shares could still be obtained. The only business in Hongkong Fires that came under Your observation, was a time bargain at 1350 for the end of May Hotels show increased firmness at 165, no shares being available at that rate. The most important movements, however, have been That made in conection, with Luzons. stock has been showing its customary eccentricities in the way of bulling" and "bearing." A very large business has been arranged to-day at different rates. For cash, sales have been reported at 105, and at the same figure a goodly number of shares have changed hands for the 31st instant. A large time business has also been put through at 105 for April, 107 for May, 107 and 108 for June, and 108, 109, and 110 for July. The stock closed very firm with cash buyers at 105. Other quo- tations speak for themselves.
