The second steeplechase was more interesting than any of the events of the day, as all the ponies traversed the course. The six ponies got well away together and cleared the water jump in tine style, Mr. Easton, on a grey griffin, being first over, but all the ponies were well went well, exte ging down the lower side all excepting that Monarch of the Glen, who evidently had an idea that the Horse Ba zaar was his home, made for it straight, Earl Eric then took the lead, and thought at one time he was closely precsed by Lord Mayor, the win net, ridden with the most consummate judgment, won in the casiest manner possible,

It was reasonably to be supposed that the last race would occupy a great deal of attention, and no less than eight out of the ten entries went to the post. All got away well together, but in the bottom stretch Ptarmigan and V. C. were catering the straight V.
