THIS DAY.

Noon, Business is gradually improving on the Stock Exchange, and there is every indi- ation of a fairly busy month. Banks have been made the medium of several transile-

tions since we last wrote, on the old con dons, first at 176, and afterwards at 177 Per cent, premium for cash. Ex-New Issue scrip has also changed hands ‘at 145, and there are now buyers at a point higher. The New Issue scrip is of offer at 138; but, so far as we know, do actual transfers, have been made, „hocks...” have · 'slightly improved their position, sales having been effected at

$5 per cent. promium for the end of March. For cash a number of shares could be placed at 53. China Sugars are anted at 190'; but there are no shares on the market at that rate at present. Lutzons have again taken an upward start, time bargains at it having been put through to a considerable extent, and the stock is now firm with cash buyers at the rata! Other quotations speak for them- selvesi..

4 o'clock pim. We have no further transactions to chronicle from the Share Market since we last wrote. Luzons are very firm and are now wanted at 112, for cash.
