ARRIVALS.

November, Canton 26th Nov., General- Siemssen & Co. LUSITANIA, German steamer, 787, P. C. Nickel-

Noon. Business in shares this morning has been confined solely to the scrip of the Hong-YOUNG SIAM, Siamese ship, 701, W. Saxtorph, kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, and the Luzon Sugar Refining Company, Limited. Banks have changed hands for cash at the increased rates of 148 per cent. premium, and on time at 150 and 151 forthe end of the year, leaving off firm at these fig- ures. Luzonshave also risen considerably in public favor, the shares having been negotiated first at 112 and then at 114 for cash, the supply at the last named quota tion ultimately becoming exhausted. Some time business has also been put through at 115 for December 31st. No other stocks have been inquired after.

4 o'clock p.m.

The most important change we have to chronicle this afternoon is the increased firmness of Banks at 149, would-be buyers vainly offering this price. No doubt 150 will be paid. One prophetic soul, who is a recognised authority in regard to Banks, assured us that they would reach 160 be- fore the end of March. Perhaps they will; but we don't place much faith in predic- tions of this kind. Luzons are still in good demand at 114 per share cash, and we hear of transactions having been booked at 117 for the end of February, 118 for the end of March, and 119 for April 30th. Other quotations remain unchanged.
