THIS DAY.

Noon. Nothing of much importance has trans- pired on the Stock Exchange since we last wrote. "A small business has been done in Canton Insurances at 102, and this rate may be quotesfas the present market value. of the, stock. Banks are quiet, but in ra- ther better oflour, an inquiry for a few small lots at 146 per cent. pre-. "mium, cash, not having been rusponded

tu.

Docks, on the other hand, show

a slight depreciation, holders displaying an anxiety to sell for cash, at 57 per cent. premium Luzons may be described as fairly firm, for although there are cush sellers at 119 offers to buy at tog have been refused. The Ice Company's stock has been made the medium of a few small invest- ments at the increaseil rate of 163, leaving off in good demand at the quotation. We heard one inquirer asking for in- formation relating to Steamboats; but no business resulted. The stock, stands nom- inally, with buyers, at 52 per share pre- miuni.

4 o'clock p.m.

r

With the exception of a small sale of Luzons at 100 for cash, no other share business has been transacted this after- noon. As will be observed from subjoined list, there are more Luzops on offer at the above quotation.
