There were twenty-five voicecasts received and transmitted from Radio Hong Kong's studios during the year.
Equipment/Installations

Two integrated consoles were designed and fabricated. They were installed in self-operating studios $10 and $11 and provide for linking and recording from Sutherland House Studio. Having cartridge recorder facilities and the ability to be linked with Continuity Studios they can be used for news and current affairs programmes without technicians controlling. They are equipped with telephone-report-units which allows live and recorded Public Telephone calls both local and overseas to be used. Four telephone-report-units were designed and constructed and are installed in Production and Continuity Studios. These units allow public participation in programmes by utilising the use of the Public Telephone Service into programmes. This service is proving a most popular broadcasting facility. Continuity Studio 1 was modified to enable further Announcer Control with the addition of a Volume Meter and fader controlled Cartridge Machine.

For stereo test purposes a dual gramophone Stereo Desk was designed and fabricated. Further stereo transmission tests were carried out throughout the year to evaluate eventual stereo
coverage.

A talk back facility using the S.C.A. principal was designed and fabricated and installed on the Golden Hill/ Broadcasting House VHF emergency link. This will allow communication from Golden Hill to Broadcasting House in the event of telephone lines failures.

The Video Tape Recorder type 1200C was equipped with Editec. This allows quick and efficient editing of VTR programmes. Video and Sound distribution amplifiers were designed and manufactured. They were installed throughout certain areas of the building allowing TV sound/vision monitoring. In order to up-date equipment for a move to colour, several colour Pulse/Video amplifiers were designed and fabricated. Video Tape Recorder type 1200C was modified for colour operation.
