CHINESE MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION EXHIBITION 1967
AND THE FISHERIES FXHBITION
75. As in previous years Radio Hong Kong built a temporary studio and Control room at each of these Exhibition sites. Both units were fully equipped and operational and provided the public visiting these Exhibi- tions the opportunity to see broadcasting techniques and staff in action.
TELEPHONE REPORTING
76. The use of telephone reports both live and recorded increased considerably during the year. To meet this demand a Telephone Report Unit was developed and put into use. This unit gives a maximum com- pression of 40dB and has been found to be extremely useful.
TEMPORARY BROADCASTING TRANSMITTERS
77. In order to improve coverage of the Chinese Service particularly in the New Territories it was found necessary to position two 1KW transmitters temporarily at selected sites. These transmitters were kindly lent to the Government by the Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Co. Ltd. and, with the assistance of the appropriate Service authorities, were installed on specially prepared sites.
78. These stations were modulated by off-air pick-up from the FM Service. They operated unattended very successfully for several months until the introduction of the services from the new Golden Hill Transmit- ting Station made their retention unnecessary.
