The most important broadcasting event of the year was the visit by H.R.H. Princess Margaret in asso- ciation with British Week. Radio Hong Kong covered more than 30 functions in the seven days Princess Margaret was here, including the Chinese community dinner, from which the speeches were broadcast live.

Another Royal visitor who is always given a great welcome by the people of Hong Kong is Princess Alexandra. Although her visit was an informal one on her way to Japan, Radio Hong Kong's commentators were there to describe the scene of her arrival.
