Amongst visitors interviewed for 'Topical Events' were members of trade delegations from Britain, the United States and Canada, delegates to the American Society of Travel Agents convention and members of The Royal Windsor Theatre Group, The Polish National Dance and Song Group and The Philippine National Dance Group.

17. On the local scene all the rural committee elections in the New Territories as well as many local festivals and dragon boat races were covered. The increasing interest in public affairs was reflected by fuller coverage of both Legislative and Urban Council meetings and full reports of these were included in the programme, which continued to be used by many Government departments in connexion with campaigns for health, road safety and cleanliness as well as for departmental recruiting (Police, Fire Services) and general advice and guidance to the public.

18. The highlight of the year was undoubtedly the visit of H.R.H. Princess Margaret and the Earl of Snowdon in connexion with British Week which was held from the 3rd to 12th March. Most aspects of the Royal Visitors' very full programme in Hong Kong were covered by Topical Events' reporters and on one day no less than nine items. were concerned with this.

19. Each weekday morning at 8.15 a.m. listeners to the Chinese Service can hear 'Enquire Within'. This programme, which was extend- ed to a ten minute feature in September because of the volume of correspondence, consists of replies to questions sent in by the public. About 50 letters are received each week and they cover a wide range of subjects. Most queries concern personal registration procedures, the issue of licences and permits, immigration regulations, educational problems and taxation, etc. The programme is produced in conjunction with the Public Enquiry Service, whose valuable assistance is much appreciated. 'Enquire Within' deals with general principles rather than specific cases; those who require more detailed attention are advised to refer to the appropriate authority for further assistance.

20. 'What the Papers Say', broadcast at 7.15 p.m. on Fridays and repeated the following morning at 8.30 a.m., is a weekly 15 minute roundup of editorial comment, listeners letters, press reports, etc. from daily and weekly English and Chinese newspapers.

21. A large percentage of Hong Kong's population is concerned with industry in one form or another but the industrial worker may have little knowledge of trades other than his own. To provide this
