Visits
146. There was a considerable increase in the number of visitors to Radio Hong Kong. Several parties of servicemen, school-children, and teachers in training at Grantham and Northcote Training Colleges were shown round the studio centre and had broadcasting operations explained and demonstrated.
Auditions
147. Periodic auditions are held for announcers and artists on the English Service, and artists on the Chinese Service. Auditions are normally judged by a panel comprised of members of the staff and outside specialists. Applications from people wishing to broadcast are welcome and should be addressed to the Controller of Broadcasting, Box 200, Hong Kong.
Tickets for Radio Shows
148. There was a considerable increase during the year in the number of shows performed before an audience, quiz programmes, talent contests and cabaret shows. Some of these were broadcast from the concert hall in Mercury House, others from outside halls, notably St. John's Cathedral Hall and the hall of Queen's College, kindly made available by the authorities concerned.
Applications for tickets to see shows are welcomed and should be addressed to the Controller of Broadcasting, Box 200, Hong Kong.
Reception Reports
149. There was a steady flow of reception reports from overseas countries throughout the year, from as far apart as New Zealand and Sweden.
