Studio Equipment

90. Advances in programme production technique called for more reproducing facilities and a six-channel groove-locating dise reproducing unit, built in the Cable and Wireless radio laboratory, was installed in August. Twelve modern triple- speed turntables (33, 45 and 78 r.p.m.) were also supplied to replace obsolete units.

91. The greater level of recording activity meant that the two extra Ferrograph 2A/NH Tape Recorders provided at the beginning of the year were fully employed.

92. Certain alterations to the existing concert hall control panel were completed to allow a temporary "echo-chamber" to be used for special acoustic effects in radio drama.
