The receiving station is situated at Mt. Butler on Hong Kong Island. Relays received there are passed down by lines to Broadcasting House for re-broadcast or recording. During the year under review a total of 3106 English and 1465 Chinese programmes, principally BBC and a few Voice of America and Radio Australia were received. The number of English programmes received represented a drop of 13.9% on 1974/75 while the number of Chinese programmes received was the same as in the previous year.

The standard of reception of the BBC direct 0900 - 16.15 GMT and 22.45 - 00.30 GMT was fairly good with the execption of the Cantonese News at 13.00 GMT which generally relied on the Singapore relay from October to February. On some occasions, when relay reception was very poor, the BBC News was taken by satellite.
