132. The senior posts in the Department are filled by Cadet Officers, who are assisted by Executive Officers. The following senior staff changes took place during the year:

In April, 1958 Mr. F. A. Weller succeeded Mr. D. Barton as Accountant. Mr. Weller was in turn succeeded by Mr. TONG Shiu Cheong in February, 1959.

In May, 1958 Mr. J. P. Aserappa was appointed to act as Commissioner in place of Mr. A. St. G. Walton.

In September, 1958 Mr. R. G. B. Bridge was appointed Resettle- ment Officer, Headquarters, in place of Mr. G. C. M. Lupton.

In September, 1958 Mr. LEE Ping-cheong was appointed to act as Secretary in place of Mr. R. Thompson.

In December, 1958 Mr. G. Barnes was appointed Resettlement Officer, Operations, in place of Mr. B. C. Tan.

In January, 1959 Mr. P. Delgoffe was appointed Building Surveyor. Mr. B. C. J. Roberts, who had been the Construction Officer, remained in the Department as a Clerk of Works on second- ment from the Public Works Department.

In January, 1959 Mr. Paul K. C. Tsui was appointed to act as Assistant Commissioner in place of Mr. G. M. Tingle.

133. The Department has two main offices, the Headquarters Office on Hong Kong Island, and the Resettlement Administration Office, which is at Pui Ching Road, Ho Man Tin. On 14th January, 1959, the Headquarters office was moved from the Central Government Offices to the eighth floor of Li Po Chun Chambers, Des Voeux Road, Central. An extra wing has been added to the Resettlement Administration Office, the new offices being occupied on 26th November, 1958.

134. The departmental sports association, which was registered as a society in February 1958, has continued to make good progress, and now has a membership of 305. The major sport of the Department is miniature football. 8 teams competed in the knock-out competition for the Walton cup, held in July 1958, and in the coming season it is also proposed to have regular league matches among the departmental teams, to compete for a cup presented by Mr. P. F. Leeds. Table tennis, basket- ball, and badminton are also played regularly and future plans include launch picnics during the summer months and a departmental sports meeting.
