116. Table XXIII shows the number of patents registered according to the countries of domicile of the grantees, with the previous year's figures for comparison. As will be seen, the United States of America and the United Kingdom remained in that order in the top two places. West Germany, fourth last year, has moved into the third position ousting Switzerland into fourth place.

OFFICIAL RECEIVER IN BANKRUPTCY
AND COMPANIES WINDING UP
118. The Bankruptcy Ordinance and the Rules made thereunder follow with some variations the English Bankruptcy legislation. The law relating to the winding-up of companies by the Court is contained in the Companies Ordinance and the Companies (Winding-up) Rules made thereunder, which are based respectively on the Companies Act 1929, formerly in force in Great Britain, and the Winding-up Rules thereunder.
New Cases
119. Nine Bankruptcy Notices were filed, and fourteen bankruptcy petitions presented during the year, the latter figure being two more than in 1969-70. Five Receiving Orders (the lowest number since 1957-58, when there were four such Orders) and one Administration Order were made, four petitions were withdrawn and two petitions were dismissed, leaving two petitions pending at 31st March 1971. One Receiving Order made in 1969-70 was rescinded. Adjudication Orders were made in five of the 1970-71 cases. The Official Receiver was appointed Trustee in all these cases, and in one case he was appointed Interim Receiver, though in this case the petition was later withdrawn. Since 1959 there have only been two cases in which the Official Receiver was not appointed Trustee.
120. There were fifteen petitions for the compulsory winding-up of companies, three less than in 1969–70. To these fifteen there fell to be added five pending from 1969–70, making in all twenty petitions before
