196. The Theft Ordinance 1970, which was based on the Theft Act 1968, repealed or amended sections 129, 132, 137 and 141 of the Bankruptcy Ordinance and sections 74, 271 and 273 of the Companies Ordinance. These sections related to certain bankruptcy offences and, in the case of companies, to offences in relation to the personation of shareholders and offences of directors or officers of a company which is being wound up.

197. Mr. J. C. KOH, Assistant Registrar Class I, attended a Manage- ment Course at Ashridge Management College in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, from 28th April to 23rd May 1969. Although the course was a short one, Mr. KоH found it beneficial and interesting, and was able to establish useful contacts with other course members. Before attending the course, Mr. KоH also was on attachment for four weeks at the Companies Registration Office in London.

198. In May 1969, Mr. SHAM Fai, Senior Assistant Registrar, enjoyed a Merit Trip to the United Kingdom, during which he visited registries in London, Edinburgh and Yorkshire which deal with com- panies, trade marks, land and deed registration and bankruptcies.

199. In July 1969, during a vacation leave in London, Mr. E. R. MAYCOCK, Assistant Registrar Class I, attended at the Trade Marks Registry in London for five days, during which he investigated specific questions concerning registration of trade marks and the London system of classifying and indexing marks.

200. On 4th August 1969, Mr. P. JACOBS, Assistant Registrar General, paid a courtesy visit to the United International Bureau for the Protection of Intellectual Property (B.I.R.P.I.) in Geneva, and dis- cussed the activities of the organization and, in particular, its method of registration of trade marks.
