Trade Marks

183. As mentioned in paragraph 105 the Trade Marks (Amendment) Rules, 1964, made some miscellaneous amendments to the Trade Marks Rules and increased the fees payable under the Trade Marks Ordinance with effect from 1st March 1964.

Patents

184. The Registration of United Kingdom Patents (Fees) (Amend- ment) Rules, 1964, varied, with effect from 1st March 1964, the fees payable under the Registration of United Kingdom Patents Ordinance to bring them approximately into line with similar fees charged under the Trade Marks Ordinance.

Births and Deaths

185. The Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment of First Schedule) Regulations, 1963, the Births and Deaths Registration (Amend- ment of First Schedule) (No. 2) Regulations, 1963, and the Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment of First Schedule) Regulations, 1964, respectively added the Kwun Tong District Birth Registry, the Tai Po District Birth Registry and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital District Births and Deaths Registry to the statutory list of Birth Register Offices, and the Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment of First Schedule) (No. 3) Regulations, 1963, and the said 1964 Regulations respectively added the Police Station at Lau Fau Shan and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital District Births and Deaths Registry to the statutory list of Death Register Offices.

MISCELLANEOUS

186. On 3rd March 1964 the Department had the honour of a farewell visit by His Excellency the Governor, Sir Robert BLACK, G.C.M.G., O.B.E., who went round all branches of the Department in the Central Government Offices (West Wing) meeting senior officers of all grades and also some Assistant Registrars called in from out-branches to represent them.
