NEW LEGISLATION
71. The Law of Property (Enforcement of Covenants) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1957, amended the principal Ordinance to make it clear that no one should be entitled to enforce a covenant under this Legislation unless he had an interest in its enforcement.
72. The Hong Kong Airport (Control of Obstructions) Ordinance, 1957, which was amended by Ordinance No. 4 of 1958, is an Ordinance of great importance to owners of land within the flight funnel of Hong Kong Airport. Under it, the Governor in Council may by order prescribe areas within which all buildings are prohibited and areas within which no building shall exceed a specified height, and require buildings which are over the permitted heights to be demolished or reduced in height. Part III of the Ordinance contains provisions regarding rights to com- pensation, the manner of making claims, the assessment of compensation, and the determination of disputes as to compensation by an Airport Obstructions Compensation Tribunal. The Hong Kong Airport (Control of Obstructions) Order, 1957, which was made under the said Ordinance and slightly amended by another Order dated 4th March, 1958, prescribed certain areas in Kowloon, New Kowloon, the New Territories and portions of Kung Ngam Peninsula and Cape Collinson on Hong Kong Island within which no building should exceed the heights specified on a plan deposited in the Land Office.
73. The Land Registration Fees Regulations, 1957, revoked the old Land Registration Fees Regulations and substituted a new Schedule of Fees. The main purpose of the new Schedule was to remove certain doubts which had arisen with regard to some items, but the opportunity was taken to include fees for photostat copies and alter some of the minor fees.

74. As mentioned in Part IX, the Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment) and the Registrar General (Establishment) (Amendment) Ordinances, 1957, effecting the transfer of the responsibility for registration of births and deaths from the Medical to this Department,
