Trade Marks.

59. The effect of the Trade Marks Ordinance, 1954, which came into operation on 1st January, 1955, has been explained in paragraphs 28 and 29 above,

60. The Alien Enemies (Re-vesting of Trade Marks) Ordinance, 1954, re-vested in the former proprietors or their successors in title, trade marks which had become vested in the Custodian of Enemy Property as trade marks belonging to alien enemies.

PART IX

MISCELLANEOUS

61. The Department was honoured on 27th July, 1954, by a visit from H. E. the Officer Administering the Government, Mr. R. B. Black, C.M.G., O.B.E.

62. Table XV shows the total Revenue of the Department for 1954/55.

63. Mr. C. M. Stevens joined the Department as Legal Assistant on 13th June, 1954.

64. As can be seen from the details given above, the volume of work done in the Department increased greatly during 1954/55, and all sections had a very busy year. Once again, the manner in which all members of the staff carried out their duties under heavy pressure of work is greatfully acknowledged.
