NEW LEGISLATION
54. The Land Transactions (Enemy Occupation) (Amend- ment) Ordinance, 1954, extended for a further year to 15th July, 1955, the period during which the "Green Ink Entries" in the Land Registers relating to transactions during the Japanese occupation constitute notice of such transactions.
55. Under the Mining Ordinance, 1954, which came into operation on 15th October, 1954, the Land Officer may grant mining leases for terms not exceeding 21 years, which may— subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions-be renewed for further terms not exceeding 21 years.
Companies.
56. The Authorized Auditors (Disciplinary Inquiry Pro- ceedings) Rules, 1955, were published on 18th March, 1955. Their purpose has already been explained in paragraph 27 above.
57. The Companies Ordinance (Amendment of Sixth Schedule) Order, 1955, corrected an error in the Sixth Schedule of the Companies Ordinance.
Money-Lenders.
58. The Money-Lenders (Registration) (Amendment) Regu- lations, 1955, increased the fee payable for registration as a money-lender, and for each renewal thereof, from $50 to $500.
