This word, meaning stubble, and a word of the same pronounciation meaning a broomstick, are also tabooed, either because of their resemblance to (21) or because of the homophone meaning to drive away. They are replaced by kwun (25). See sok-kwu (83). Except in the combination Kwun-yam (26) (Goddess of Mercy), this word however spelt means 'dry', being used in place of the tabooed kon (21). This word meaning a tube is used in place of kon (22). See also (21).
