Joint Staff Discussion Groups on a Divisional basis continued to hold regular meetings with a view to maintaining and promoting mutual understanding and co-operation among all the staff of the Office.

Outings to Lantau Island for staff of the Office and their families were arranged and over 1,000 persons took part.

Members of the staff participated in all Departmental sports events throughout the year.

For a third time the Office won the volley-ball championship. The Office team also came first in the darts competition. In the 8th P.W.D. Sports Day, staff of the Office won the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4 by 100m relay races. The 7-a-side mini-football league for the Stead Challenge Trophy was held as a joint function with the Highways Office with six Divisions of the Office taking part.
