8.06. At the end of the year work was still in progress on the oil fuel storage system and emergency generator at Government House, the fuel oil storage system for the generator, waste incinerator and cooking stoves at Siu Lam Hospital for the Mentally Sub-normal and similar systems at Mount Butler Quarry and for the Army Air Corps at Sek Kong. At Tai Kok Tsui and Kwun Tong Passenger Ferry Piers two lifts and eight ramps were in the process of fabrication and the electric power system was being installed. Compressed air services and pressurized water systems were being provided for Kowloon Hospital Extension and Sai Ying Pun Medical Institute. At Kai Tak Airport work continued on the provision of a 110 KW standby generator, switchboard, taxi-way and floodlights for the parking apron extensions now under construction together with lightning conductor and obstruction lights for a microwave transmission tower at the RAF Station, Kai Tak. Contracts had already been awarded for fuel oil storage systems at Dragon's Back Training Centre, Gun Club Hill Barracks and at Siu Lam Prisons Department Mental Hospital, complete with 40 KW generator and waste incinerator; the rebuilding and erection of a 7-ton Scotch Derrick; the modification of three slipway cradles and erection of eight hoists at Yau Ma Tei; and the re-insulation of the air-conditioning ductwork at the British Military Hospital. Orders have also been placed for a switchboard and two 1,500 KVA transformers for Stonecutters Island power supply system; boilers and ancillary equipment for the New Mortuary and Pathological Block in Queen Mary Hospital; switchboard extensions at Kennedy Town Incinerator to provide power supplies to a 5th Incinerator and at Lai Chi Kok to give 11,000 volts power supply to Cheung Sha Wan sea-water pumping station. Formal indents have been placed through Crown Agents for mechanical plant and equipment for the additional incinerator line at Kennedy Town and also Lai Chi Kok 'B' Incinerator for installation during 1972. Boilers, calorifiers and air compressors have been ordered for Shau Kei Wan Medical Department Laundry, boilers and ancillary equipment for Mount Kellett Hospital and Pok Fu Lam New
