83. New Electrical & Mechanical Workshops.
Details of this scheme were given in last year's report. Building work on the Mechanical Workshops, which are 400 feet long and 132 feet wide, commenced in September.
84. Since the new building is within the same area as the existing workshops, which have had to be kept in operation during the process of re-building, the new construction has been planned to be erected in three sections; each section to be completed and handed over ready for operation before the next section can be commenced. This process has considerably lengthened the time required for completion of the work, but by the end of March the first section had been completed and good progress had been made on the second section.
85. Preliminary sketch plans for the Electrical Workshop, Stores and Offices were also completed.
