(c) The pipelines between the treatment works at Tsun Wan and the service reservoirs at Laichikok and Kau Wa Kang.
(d) The trunk main between the reservoir at Kau Wa Kang and the new one to be constructed at Diamond Hill.
344. Work on the construction of the main dam to a height of 150 A.P.D., was seriously delayed because of the late delivery of the heavy plant. The erection of the cableway was almost completed, but certain parts essential for its operation and many items of the crushing plant had not arrived.
345. A contract was negotiated for the completion of the dam to its full height, and tenders were invited for
(i) The construction of a building to house a 20 M.G. per day filtration plant.
(ii) The construction of the tunnels between Waterfall dam and Tsun Wan.
346. Numerous small contracts were let for site formation and the construction of access roads to the service reservoir, filtration plant and pumping station sites as well as to the tunnel portals.
347. Tenders were invited and a contract let for the construction of a 5 M.G. service reservoir at Ma Tau Wei. Approximately 700 ft. of the 30" dia. pipe from the Laichikok reservoir were laid.
348. In connexion with the replanning of the scheme and the enlargement of the work to deal with 20 M.G. per day instead of 10 M.G., boring and survey work was carried out at the sites of the three subsidiary dams and for the tunnels and pipelines. Orders were placed for both the additional pumps and the filtration equipment required to deal with the extra 10 M.G. per day. The majority of the steel pipes previously ordered were delivered and new indents were prepared for the extra pipes and valves now required.
