92. By-Products Plant House, Kennedy Town. Equipment was purchased for the processing of waste products from the existing Government slaughterhouse, in order to dispense with the present costly and wasteful method of burning condemned carcasses. It is hoped that much valuable data will be obtained from the operation of this plant, which will assist in the selection of the plant necessary for the new abattoir. Sketch plans were prepared for the temporary building to house this plant, until it is installed in the new abattoir.
93. Beach Staff Quarters, Repulse Bay. Accommodation was required for beach staff at Repulse Bay. Plans were prepared for barrack accommodation for ten persons. Work commenced in March.
94. King George V Memorial Parks, Hong Kong & Kowloon. The reconstruction of these parks, consisting of fencing the areas and constructing playing fields, gardens and paths, was referred to in last year's report. Work commenced in September and was completed in March.
95. Government House Gardens, Pokfulam. These gardens, which were originally on the site of the new Sookunpoo Stadium, were mentioned in last year's report. Construction of the gardeners' quarters and water supply tanks was completed in June.

96. New Headquarters. Details of this scheme were given in last year's report. The new seven-storey R.C. building, which will house the H.K.R.N.V.R. Headquarters, the Directorate of Manpower, Civil Aid Services, Essential Services Corps and the Medical Examination Board, is being built next to the China Fleet Club in Gloucester Road. Piling commenced in May, was completed in July, and the building contract commenced in September.
