47. Cheung Sha Wan Market. A new "light construction" market with 42 stalls, was being built and was almost completed by the end of the year.
48. Bridges Street Market. Owing to the restricted site, it was not possible to provide sufficient space with the normal "light construction" single storey structure. A permanent two-storey market was therefore designed with accommodation for 59 stalls and caretaker's quarters. Work commenced in October and was nearly completed by the end of March.
49. Latrines at Warren Street, Hong Kong, Baker Street Kowloon and Carpenter Road, Kowloon City. The standard latrine design was used with male and female latrines on the ground floor—caretaker's quarters over, and space for future extension for bath houses. Work on the three latrines was nearing completion by the end of the year.
50. Latrines in Connaught Road. Two small latrines were built over the sea, adjoining Connaught Road, to replace 2 existing latrines in the centre of the road, which had to be demolished when improvements to Connaught Road were carried out.
51. Farewell Pavilion and Coffin Store. Sketch plans were prepared for this building to replace the existing buildings, which will have to be demolished when the new Stadium at Sookunpoo is constructed.
52. Abattoir, Kennedy Town. This was referred to in last year's report. Preliminary investigation and planning continued during the year.
53. King George V Memorial Park, Hong Kong. Plans for the restoration of this small park at Hospital Road were prepared. The park will contain hard playgrounds, gardens, and a pavilion.
