28. Aberdeen Primary School.
Details of the accommodation of this school were given in last year's report. Site formation was completed in August but owing to landslides and necessary protective work it was not possible to commence building construction until March.
29. Ho Tung Girls School. This work was referred to in last year's report. Demolition of the old Belilios Reformatory and site formation were completed in August. The school was opened by H.E. the Governor on 9th March.
30. Tai Po Primary School. Messrs. Way & Hall were appointed architects. Building commenced in June and was completed in December. The school consists of 8 classrooms and 2 handcraft rooms.
31. King's College. This school which had been badly damaged during hostilities was rehabilitated in 1950. Last year, it was decided to add an additional floor to one of the wings in order to provide laboratories and a library. Messrs. Palmer & Turner were appointed architects. Work was commenced in October and completed in February.
32. New Peak School. Plans were approved for a new junior school on the site of the Old Peak Club. The school has 9 classrooms, handwork room, biology room, music room, assembly hall, dining hall and kitchen. Construction started in February.
33. Alterations to the Technical Training College. Sketch plans for additions to this college consisting of 8 new classrooms for Science, Radio, Drawing and Commercial subjects, and 2 new offices were approved and working drawings were in hand.
34. New Offices for the Education Department. The French Mission on Battery Path was purchased by Government for use as offices for the Education Department. Considerable alterations and renovations were carried out in March.
