19 Water Meters: The number of meters examined and repaired was 3,440. Thirteen meters were tested in accordance with Regulation 9 of the Water Works Regulations.

58. Maintenance of Praya Wall and Piers:-Praya Wall and Piers were maintained in a satisfactory condition. steelwork in decking and roof of Blake Pier and in roof of Queen's Pier was painted. The following piers were repaired : French Street, Jubilee Street, King Shan, Murray, Queen's and Wilmer Street. A considerable amount of repair work was carried out to the pitched slope of roadway on South-east side of the Causeway Bay Shelter.

Minor repairs were carried out to sea and quay walls at various points, also to the gear on the Refuse Boat Piers at Gloucester Road, Kennedy Town and Shaukiwan.

59. Maintenance of Public Cemetery :-The Cemeteries were maintained in a satisfactory condition. New paths in the Colonial Cemetery were laid with 24" granolithic paving.
