ALLEGATIONS AGAINST GOVERNMENT SERVANTS
102. 207 allegations of corruption against officers in other Govern- ment Departments were dealt with during the year. In ten cases no further action was taken as there was insufficient evidence on which to base an enquiry whilst 43 cases are still under preliminary enquiry. 144 cases were referred to the Target Committee on Corruption, with a further ten cases pending reference. Of the 144 cases considered by the Committee, 29 cases were referred to Anti-Corruption Branch for further enquiries and 55 cases were referred to other Police Formations or appropriate Government Departments. The Target Committee direct- ed that no further action should be taken on the remaining 60 cases. A summary of action taken against Government Servants, other than Police Officers involved in corruption cases which have been heard in Court or dealt with departmentally is as follows:

CORRUPTION INVOLVING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC
103. 30 allegations of corruption against members of the public were dealt with during this year. In one case, no further action was taken as there was insufficient information upon which to base an enquiry and 15 are still under preliminary enquiry. A total of 14 cases were considered by the Target Committee on Corruption, which referred four back to the Anti-Corruption Branch for further investiga- tion. Of the remainder, four cases were referred to other Police Formations or Government Departments for action and in six cases the Committee directed that no further action be taken.
