207. The Dowman Road Race from Sha Tau Kok to Fanling Depot in the New Territories took place on the 20th February, 1968.
208. At the 31st March, 1968, an extension of the H.K.P.S.A. premises at Boundary Street was under construction.
POLICE RECREATION CLUB
209. This Club provides a useful meeting place for members of the Force from the rank of Inspector upwards. The Club caters for such sports and recreational functions as lawn bowls, tennis and billiards. The Police Recreation Club Ground is used for cricket matches; and dances and other social activities are also held regularly throughout the year.

SOCIETIES
210. Under the Societies Ordinance the Commissioner of Police is the Registrar of Societies. On 31st March, 1968 there were 1,645 registered societies and 218 societies exempted from registration under the Societies Ordinance.
211. During the year 111 new societies were registered and 19 societies were granted exemption. Two societies changed their status from registration to exemption from registration under the Societies Ordinance; one society was refused registration; 17 societies changed their status by registering as companies; one society changed its status by registering as a Trade Union; three societies were dissolved under the Societies Ordinance. Applications from 35 were under consideration at 31st March, 1968.
ARMS LICENSING
212. At the end of the year a total of 1,336 arms licences were in issue. 161 weapons and 8,144 rounds of ammunition confiscated by the courts were disposed of during the year.
