enquiry; one case was referred to another police formation for action, and 17 cases are still under preliminary enquiry. A total of 118 cases were referred to the Target Committee on Corruption and a further 32 cases await consideration at the next meeting of the Committee. Of the 118 cases considered by the Target Committee, 19 cases were referred to the Anti-Corruption Branch for further investigation. Of these one allegation was substantiated, 12 were unsubstantiated and six were under investigation at the end of the year. Of the remainder, in 49 cases the Target Committee directed that no further action be taken, and 50 cases which concerned general allegations were referred to other police formations for action. ALLEGATIONS AGAINST GOVERNMENT SERVANTS
95. 116 allegations of corruption against officers in other Govern- ment departments were dealt with during the year. In two cases no further action was taken, as there was insufficient information upon which to base an enquiry and 13 cases are still under preliminary enquiry. 74 cases were referred to the Target Committee on Corruption and a further 27 cases are pending. Of the 74 cases considered by the Target Committee 23 were referred to the Anti-Corruption Branch for further investigation. Five allegations were found to be substantiated and two unsubstantiated, and 16 were still under investigation at the end of the year. Of the remainder, in 29 cases the Target Committee directed that no further action be taken, and 22 cases were referred to other police formations or appropriate Government departments for action.
