Athletic Sports on the afternoon of Saturday, 11th March, 1967 at the Police Ground, Boundary Street, Kowloon. The latter is generally regarded as a families day and was fully supported by all ranks and their families.

231. Two performances worthy of note throughout the year were those of the Police Football Team which was runner up in the Golden Jubilee Cup Competition, and of the Police Rugby XV which won the 1966-67 Pentangular Tournament.

POLICE RECREATION CLUB

232. This Club functions as a most useful 'Off Duty Meeting Point' for members of the Force from the Rank of Inspector upwards and provides sports and recreational functions such as lawn bowls, tennis and billiards and also the playing facilities for Force representative cricket matches. Dances and other social activities are also held regularly throughout the year.

SOCIETIES

Under the Societies Ordinance the Commissioner of Police is the Registrar of Societies. On 31st March, 1967 there were 1,556 registered Societies and 198 societies exempted from registration under the Societies Ordinance.

234. During the year 136 new societies were registered and 12 societies were granted exemption. Two societies changed their status from regis- tration to exemption from registration under the Societies Ordinance; 19 societies changed their status by registering as companies; and four societies were dissolved. 15 applications were under consideration on 31st March, 1967.

ARMS LICENSING

235. At the end of the year a total of 1,436 arms licences were in issue. 29 weapons (including those other than firearms) and 402 rounds of ammunition confiscated by the courts were disposed of during the year.
