185. Planning has been completed and funds provided for P.A.B.X. telephone exchanges to be installed in District and Divisional Head- quarters. Phase I of the Scheme-Kowloon and New Territories-should be completed during 1967–68, followed by Phase II-Hong Kong Island and inter-district traffic routes in the following year.
186. During the year 29,572 telephone calls were received by District Control Rooms. Of this total 20,379 were '999' calls 302 of which were false calls. 26,177 teleprinter messages were passed, a traffic increase of 9.7% over the previous year.
Transport
187. This Section is controlled by a Senior Inspector. Two junior officers are responsible for the daily vehicle states and the supervision of the Police Driving School.
188. The Force vehicle establishment is:

189. The increase in vehicle establishment compared with the previous year, is due mainly to an expansion in District Emergency Force Units.
190. During the year Force vehicles covered 5,880,968 miles, and were involved in 242 accidents giving a figure of 24,301 miles per accident, an improvement over the previous year's figure of 21,424 miles per accident.
191. 351 members of the Force were given driving instruction by the Police Driving School situated at Yuen Long.
