GENERAL INVESTIGATION OFFICE
121. The General Investigation Office is a small branch of C.I.D. which in particular deals with infringements of ordinances administered by various Government departments.
122. These breaches of the law are usually concerned with the falsifica- tion of statutory documents, false declarations and failure to meet registration requirements. In cases of vice where protracted enquiries. are necessary investigations are conducted by this section.

PREVENTION OF CRIME OFFICE
124. This office consists of the Juvenile Liaison Section, Deportation and Detention Section, Police Supervision Section, Vetting Section, Police Drug Disposal Unit and the Interpol Sub-Bureau.
125. The work of the Juvenile Liaison Section continues to expand and is proving very useful in the field of crime prevention. Officers of this Section keep in touch with trends in youthful activities particularly in those areas where young people congregate for entertainment or other activities. Close contact is maintained with the Social Welfare Department and voluntary agencies concerned with youth work. By a system known as the Liverpool system juveniles coming to the attention of C.I.D. may be referred by the Divisional Superintendent, after personal interview, to the Juvenile Liaison Section instead of proceeding with court action. The section then undertakes to maintain supervision of the young person concerned. 531 juveniles were so dealt with during the year.
126. During the year four cases involving five persons were referred to the Deportation and Detention Advisory Tribunal established under the Emergency (Deportation and Detention) Regulations. The number
