AIDS TO INVESTIGATION SECTION
130. The sections briefly described below are at Police Headquarters, Arsenal Street, and come under the direct control of C.I.D. Headquarters. Identification Bureau
131. This bureau consists of four sections-fingerprint records section, scene of crime section, the photographic section and the questioned documents section.
132. During the year a total of 57,280 fingerprint forms were received at the bureau for examination, representing an increase of 1,523 over the previous year. The single fingerprint collection was increased by some 2,500 prints to bring the total collection to some 52,500 representing some 5,250 criminals who have convictions for burglary and other similar offences.
133. The Photographic Section, including divisional photographers, attended some 4,000 scenes of crime, some 65,281 photographs were taken and 181,755 prints and enlargements were made. The microfilming of records for the police and several other departments continued, and the number of documents microfilmed was 93,600. The ending of the severe water restrictions enabled this work to be carried out without any delay in print processing.
