HOUSING AND BUILDINGS
49. Senior Officers are mainly housed in non-departmental quarters but there are 25 departmental quarters available for holders of certain duty posts. There are 370 departmental quarters available for 435 married junior officers. Priority in the allocation of married quarters for junior officers is given to overseas officers.
50. Of the 238 local junior officers who are married 158 are housed in departmental quarters.
51. Details of new buildings and quarters are given at paragraph 4 and Appendix 8 respectively.
52. Police projects in various stages of planning or construction at the end of the year are listed in Appendix 9.
CIVILIAN STAFF
53. The civilian establishment is 1,511 consisting mainly of clerical officers and allied grades, police interpreters and labourers.
54. Once more the Force had difficulty in recruiting police interpreters but by the end of the year most of the vacancies had been filled.
