HONOURS AND AWARDS
19. The following officers were honoured by Her Majesty the Queen:
(a) To be a Member of the Third Class, or Companion, of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George:

(b) To be an Ordinary Member of the Civil Division of the Most
Excellent Order of the British Empire:

(d) Colonial Police Medal for Meritorious Service:

20. In addition to these honours 90 officers qualified for the award of the Colonial Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medals, 29 for First Clasps and 15 for Second Clasps.
ESTABLISHMENT AND RECRUITMENT
21. The establishment approved at the beginning of the year was 8,718 all ranks. By the end of the year this number had increased to 8,753, the additional posts, mainly for anti-illegal immigration duties, being granted by supplementary provision during the year. This final establishment represents an increase of 156 over that of the previous year.
