RE-ENTRY PERMIT OFFICES
245. An overall total of 370,644 Hong Kong re-entry permits were issued to local residents during the year. The breakdown of the figures for the various offices was as follows, showing comparative figures for

IMMIGRATION BONDS
246. During the year sponsors of immigrants put up 2,198 cash bonds of which 1,541 were returned when conditions had been fulfilled, 122 bonds were cancelled and 535 were still in operation at the end of the
year.
REVENUE COLLECTED
247. Revenue collected during the year amounted to $1,712,504.35.
BOARDING OFFICE
248. This section is staffed by nineteen inspectors and six N.C.O.s. Their duties involve meeting all vessels and aircraft entering the Colony. During the year 6,909 vessels, 6,419 aircraft and 12,883 native craft were cleared.
GENERAL BUSINESS
249. The number of individual dealings with members of the public was in the region of 350,000 excluding applicants for re-entry permits, who numbered 370,644.

250. At the end of the year a total of 1,470 arms licences were in force. 63 weapons and 3,455 rounds of ammunition confiscated under
