130. An Assistant Commissioner directs the Department, assisted by a Deputy Director and seven Assistant Directors, all Gazetted Officers. 131. The work of certain specialized units of the C.I.D. is described in the following paragraphs.
Commercial Crime
132. The work of the Commercial Crime Section has increased considerably during the year. Investigations undertaken included cases of forgery, counterfeiting, and various commercial and other frauds. Close co-operation is maintained with the Department of Commerce and Industry in Trade and Merchandise Marks investigations. The following table summarizes cases investigated during the year:

Passport Fraud Investigation
133. This Section was formed primarily to investigate passport and immigration irregularities, and through close co-operation between the immigration authorities of other countries, particularly the United States, Canada, and New Zealand, successful prosecutions have resulted in the Colony and in these countries.
134. During the year the activities of this Section were expanded to include investigations under the Education Ordinance, Medical Registra- tion Ordinance, the Undesirable Medical Advertisements Ordinance, and the Poisons and Penicillin Ordinance.
Triad Society Bureau
135. Mention has been made of this Section in the paragraph headed "Triad Societies'.
Forensic Medical Laboratory
136. The laboratory, situated at Police Headquarters, is staffed by two forensic pathologists, one chemist, and six assistants. Duties of the staff include the examination of victims and suspects and of exhibits,
