CHAIRMAN'S

STATEMENT

主席報告

On 22nd March, 1990, Mr Lui Hau Tuen,

Deputy Secretary for Transport (Transport

Services) was appointed by the Governor to replace Mr Eddy Chan Yuk Tak.

On 15th November, 1990, Mr Walter Kwok Ping Sheung was appointed to the Board.

On 27th December, 1990, Mr Eddy Chan Yuk Tak was re-appointed by the Governor to temporarily replace Mr Lui Hau Tuen, and on 7th January, 1991, Mr Andrew Leung Kin Pong

was appointed to replace Mr Chan.

The valuable services rendered by Mr Lui

Hau Tuen and Mr Eddy Chan Yuk Tak during

their terms of directorship are greatly

appreciated, and the Directors welcome

Mr Walter Kwok Ping Sheung and Mr Andrew

Leung Kin Pong on their joining the Board.

The Directors and staff deeply mourned the

sudden death of Mr Kwok Tak Seng in

October, 1990, and on behalf of the Board,

I would like to place on record our sincere

appreciation for the valuable contribution

Mr Kwok had made to the Company during his long term of directorship.

APPRECIATION

In common with many other Hong Kong companies, last year was not an easy one for KMB, but thanks to great efforts made by our staff at all levels, we have managed to keep our

costs down and improve our productivity, whilst

still maintaining a high standard of service to the

travelling public. On behalf of the Board, I would

like to express my sincere thanks to all KMB

employees for their contribution and loyalty

during 1990, and I hope that our Company will

continue to grow and prosper in 1991.

替陳育德先生。

一九九零年十一月十五日,郭炳湘先生

獲委任加入董事會。

一九九零年十二月二十七日,陳育德

先生再獲港督委任暂替呂孝端先生; 而於一九九一年一月七日,梁建邦先生

獲委任接替陳先生。

本公司謹就呂孝端先生及陳育德先生 在任內對董事會所作之寶貴貢獻深表 謝意。董事會並謹此歡迎郭炳湘先生及 梁建邦先生加入董事會。

各董事及職員均深切哀悼於一九九零年 十月突然身故之郭得勝先生。本人謹代表 董事會就郭先生長期以來在任內對本公司 所作之寶貴貢獻致以衷心謝意。

如其他香港公司一般,九巴在過去一年並 不輕鬆,惟有賴各級職員所付出之努力, 本公司得以降低成本及改善經營業績, 並仍能向廣大乘客提供高水準之服務。 本人謹代表董事會向所有在一九九零年度 作出貢獻並盡忠職守之九巴員工致以衷心 謝意。本人並希望本公司在一九九一年

繼續擴展,業務蒸蒸日上。
