CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT

主席報告

EXTENSION OF FRANCHISE

I am pleased to report to

Shareholders that as a result of our

continuing satisfactory performance,

the Governor has on 7th June, 1988,

extended our franchise until 31st

August, 1997. Recently the Company

made an application to the

Government for an extension of

franchise for a further two years from

Ist September, 1997 to 31st August, 1999.

DIRECTORS

Under the Public Bus Services

Ordinance, the persons holding the position of Commissioner for

Transport and Deputy Secretary for

Transport (Transport Services) will sit on our Board. Mr James So Yiu Cho, JP, and Mrs Alice Lai Siu Po Chun, are presently directors of the Company

appointed by the Governor. I wish to

take this opportunity to thank them for their valuable contribution to the work of the Board.

APPOINTMENTS

I am pleased to announce on behalf of

the Board the following senior

appointments which took effect on 1st March, 1989 :

Mr Lawrence E Louey as Managing

Director;

Mr Charles C Y Lui as General

Manager;

Mr John C Y Choy as Deputy General Manager and Company Secretary;

延長專利權

本人欣然向各位股東宣佈,由於本公司

繼續有良好表現,港督已於一九八八年

六月七日將本公司之專利權延長至

一九九七年八月三十一日。本公司最近

已向政府申請將專利權自一九九七年九月

一日起再延長兩年至一九九九年八月

三十一日。

董事會

根據公共巴士服務條例規定,在任之

運輸署署長及副運輸司(運輸服務)均

出任為本公司董事。現時蘇耀祖先生及

黎蕭寶珍女士均獲港督委派出任本公司

董事。本人謹就彼等對董事會所作之貢獻

深致謝忱。
