80. Several organized parties were also conducted around the estates. They included Army officers, teachers and students.

BUILDINGS
81. The Authority has now six estates in all, two completed, three partially completed and one still under construction. The piling contract for the seventh estate has been let.
82. The first two completed projects are located on Hong Kong Island and were fully described in the Authority's Annual Reports for 1957-58 and 1958-59. North Point Estate at Java Road contains 1,955 flats of various sizes, with one or more bedrooms separated from the living rooms by permanent partitions, and accommodates 12,650 people. The Sai Wan Estate has 638 self-contained flats housing 3,892 people. 83. The other four projects are all on the mainland and are described in the following paragraphs.
84. The So Uk scheme, with its master plan by Eric Cumine, was
CUMINE, carried out by a consortium of four architectural firms, working initially under Mr. CUMINE's chairmanship, on the design of sections of the estate. It was fully described in the Annual Report for 1957-58. The firms concerned with the first three stages are Messrs. Leigh & Orange,
